The Property Market has Autumnal Surge
Thu 13 Oct 2016
A new report out today confirms what we at Changing Home are experiencing on the ground locally
Demand among home buyers has seen a recovery following “post-referendum jitters”, according to surveyors.
Buyer demand rose for the first time since the spring in September, the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (Rics) said.
It had dipped in June and July during the height of the referendum battle and immediate aftermath of the Brexit vote.
They add that the lack of properties coming onto the market means that prices have risen.
“The market does now appear to be settling down following the significant headwinds encountered through the spring and summer,” said Simon Rubinsohn, chief economist at RICS.
Over the next three months, surveyors predict that house prices will rise further on a national basis.
The shortage of stock and the rising demand appear to create a perfect scenario for potential vendors, even at this late stage in the year.
Our thoughts are that the market is strong locally and we certainly don’t expect a slowdown.
We think the message is clear. If you are thinking of selling don’t worry that we are getting close to Christmas. Now looks like a really good time to test the market.
